Iâm Not In Love (50th Anniversary)
One of the greatest love songs of all-time, 10ccâs âIâm Not In Loveâ, will mark its 50th anniversary this year with a special 7 inch vinyl release on Valentineâs Day.
Originally released in 1975 on 10ccâs landmark âThe Original Soundtrackâ album, the songâs unique and groundbreaking recording style as well as its hugely moving lyrics of being in denial made it a huge worldwide hit, including I No.1 on the UK and No.2 on the US singles charts.
As part of the 50th anniversary celebration, Graham Gouldman and Kevin Godley â two of the original members of 10cc â will reunite for a performance on BBC Radio 2âs Piano Room on Thursday 13th February. The duo will perform âIâm Not in Loveâ live, as well as a very special cover, plus their brand-new song, âDonât Want to Go to Heavenâ.
âDonât Want to Go to Heavenâ will be available on the 13th February, and marks the first time in almost 20 years that Gouldman and Godley have released new music together, making the reunion a historic event for fans of 10cc.
Formed in Manchester in1972, 10cc (Graham Gouldman, Kevin Godley, Lol Creme, Eric Stewart) are known for their innovative approach to music, blending art rock, pop, and sophisticated studio techniques to create a hugely influential sound and style.
The bandâs 1975 album âThe Original Soundtrackâ is considered one of their finest achievements, with âIâm Not in Loveâ standing as the pinnacle of the albumâs artistic vision. The trackâs groundbreaking production, including the use of lush vocal layers to create its signature sound, as well as its knowingly oxymoronic lyrics telling the story of someone in denial from their true feelings that canât help but seep through, cemented its place as an enduring classic.
Now fronted by Graham Gouldman as the only founding member, 10cc continue to tour worldwide. In 2024 the band performed their first US tour in over three decades, as well as a sold-out finale of their 18-date UK tour at the Royal Albert Hall, with the Mail on Sunday commenting âNever mind the Buzzcocks or Oasis, Manchesterâs finest are 10ccâ. This show also saw Kevin Godley guest with 10cc on stage, as well as leading the band in the first live performance of the Godley & Creme hit âCryâ.
10ccâs âIâm Not In Loveâ will be released on limited edition 7 inch vinyl celebrating its 50th anniversary on 14th February 2025.Â
