Stunning artwork and photography, the original LP had one of rock’s early classic gatefold album designs, with the iconic ‘fisheye’ image of the group on the sleeve front.
Highlights include the defiant, in-your-face fuzztone riff and frustrated lyrics of (I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction, the frenetic pounding anthem Get Off of My Cloud the louder-than-life rhythm guitars on It’s All Over Now and The Last Time and the wailing R&B of Time Is on My Side, as well as one of the greatest Stones singles, Paint It, Black – the killer riff being played on a sitar by Brian Jones – a perfect match for the dark, mysterious Eastern-Indian melody.
